The Alaskan Hotel
The last stop on my work trip to Southeast Alaska is Juneau, the capital city of Alaska.
Juneau may be known for glaciers, gold rush history, and the best folk festival in the county, but some say its past still lingers in the shadows.
The most famous haunted spot in Juneau is the Alaskan Hotel & Bar. Built in 1913, it’s the oldest operating hotel in Alaska. Guests and staff have reported footsteps in empty hallways, doors opening on their own, and sightings of a mysterious woman believed to be a former resident named Alice.
Nearby, the Silverbow Inn also has its share of eerie stories. Some visitors claim to hear unexplained noises or feel an odd presence in the historic building.
Between the Gold Rush history, old wooden buildings, and long dark winters, Juneau is the kind of place where ghost stories feel right at home.
Fun fact: I have spent the night at both of these locations and i definitely have questions….
